Fly balls from the New York Mets won’t reach Willets Point, but it’s a point of pride in how close the ballpark is to this neighborhood. Called the Iron Triangle by locals, Willets Point is barely populated and is mostly a commercial district for automobile shops. But after a recent, multi-billion dollar renovation plan from the city, Willets Point now has a shopping district and more housing to welcome new neighbors and foster a community.
