Van Nest, nestled between Morris Park and Parkchester in the Bronx’ eastern side, still has an old world feel with many inhabitants having been there for generations. There’s a noticeable lack of apartment buildings, but mom and pop shops, such as Conti’s Pastry Shoppe – a neighborhood attraction, still ply a trade on Van Nest’s main commercial strip Morris Park Avenue. Transportation into the city is good with the 2 and 5 trains running along the western border of town.
