Something is changing in Brooklyn. A new, soaring skyscraper is soaring into the air, pushing the borough higher than ever before.

The Building

Brooklynites may have noticed the impressive new tower going up downtown over the past couple of years. Called the Brooklyn Tower, this new development located at 9 Dekalb Ave. is nearing completion. When finished, it will reach 93 stories into the air, giving impeccable views to its lucky residents.

The Architecture

Designed by SHoP Architects, this distinctive building takes inspiration from the classic icons that define New York City architecture. Clocking in at 1,066 ft tall, the Brooklyn Tower is the tallest building in the borough. Designed to rival the great towers of Manhattan, the Brooklyn Tower is sure to redefine the Brooklyn Skyline, combining bold modernity with timeless elegance.

Since the Brooklyn Tower is a mixed use building, in addition to the residential units, there will also be a 100,000 sq ft retail podium that will house the Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn. Preserving the original architecture, this beautiful Brooklyn landmark will gain new life at 9 Dekalb Ave.

In fact, the tower itself is inspired by the bank, using its hexagonal motif in the structure, as well as its rich color palette of cream of bronze. The beautiful marble columns of the bank are echoed in the soaring setbacks of the Brooklyn Tower. Here, the past and the present meet to create something new and dazzling.

The Numbers

When completed, the Brooklyn Tower will have 550 total units. Home shoppers can buy one of 150 units, and the rest will be reserved as rental units. 30% of the rental units will be affordable housing. There are currently 14 available listings for purchase. Units range from studios to four-bedrooms.

The Residences

The elegance of the building’s exterior is carried into its interiors. Take a look at some of the luxury residents of 9 Dekalb Ave. will enjoy.

The Interiors

Designed by Gachot Studios, the residences at 9 Dekalb Ave are inviting, distinctive, and refined.

With high ceilings up to 11 ft and floor to ceiling windows, the interiors at the Brooklyn Tower are filled with natural light that illuminates the warm materiality of the space. European white oak flooring has been stained a custom honey color, and the cream walls and bronze accents offset sleek, black cabinetry and countertops. The warm materiality of the building’s facade is brought inside to the residences, giving a sense of continuity only furthered by the extraordinary views of surrounding Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the water.

The Details

Each residence contains state of the art appliances from Miele, including an in unit washer and dryer. A year-round, zoned, hybrid heat pump HVAC system handles climate control. The countertops are custom black granite, and the waterworks, custom bronze fixtures.

The bathroom features Breccia Capria marble walls and Bianco Dolomite hexagonal flooring, echoing the hexagonal motif of the building. The light mahogany vanities include the same black granite countertops from the kitchen, as well as custom fluted glass sconces.

The Amenities

The amenities at the Brooklyn Tower offer an immersive and unparalleled experience for residents. From the moment you step into the warm lobby, you are entering into a sanctuary filled with warm wood and bronze touches. The lobby is staffed with a 24-hour attendant, a coffee stand, and a rideshare lounge where residents can wait to be picked up.

The LIFE TIME Athletic Club

The LIFE TIME Athletic Club serves as the residents’ in house health and wellness hub. It includes a fitness center and studios for yoga, barre, pilates, and cycling. There is also a recovery space offering chiropractic services, as well as group fitness classes and private training. After a good workout, residents can enjoy a meal at the LifeCafe restaurant.

Dome Pool and Terrace

For recreation, residents have access to the incredible Dome Pool and Terrace. Built around the dome of the Dime Savings Bank, this terrace includes sunbeds, a lap pool, a splash pool for kids, a whirlpool, outdoor showers, and a hammock lounge. There is also an outdoor eating area with a fire pit, BBQ grills, and dining tables. Indoors, just off of the Dome terrace, is a poolside lounge with shuffleboard, cocktail bar, and chef’s kitchen that is great for entertaining. The poolside lounge has a living room area with comfortable seating and a dining area perfect for large groups.

For even more entertainment, there are recreation spaces residents can enjoy, like the billiards room with bar, screening room, children’s playroom, and library lounge which includes coworking space great for post pandemic hybrid workers. The library lounge also features conference rooms and private meeting rooms if you need to take your work out of the office and into a calm space that invites creativity and cooperation.

Sky Park

But the amenities do not stop there. On the 66th floor, there is a Sky Park, an open air space with a full sized basketball court. The Sky Lounge on the 85th floor offers unbeatable views of the city. Residents and their guests can relax in the clouds, enjoying the lounges, bars, and outdoor fireplace while taking in the sights.
